Interesting article points out what I think is a global phenomenon, where the popular press treats web social media as a threat instead of as an opportunity. Just the same thing happened with blogging, where the popular anti-meme was “you’ll lose your job if you blog”.

Facebook might not cost any jobs, but will certainly cost us our freedom! their Their terms of use are a clear example of fascism in the making: discrimination and censorship. Things that we would not tolerate anywhere are just ignored.
Facebook wants Trademark protection for the word “book”. Wants to stop any internet company to use the word “book” in its name or/and in their urls.
It’s a common trend among software developers to only see freedom as necessary in relation with software. Any other freedom is up for sale!
It’s just possible you are missing the point.
